About Me

Simon Verity, Financial Advisor

After gaining a diploma in Business and Finance, I first qualified as a Financial Adviser in the UK in 1991 and have been giving cross-border financial advice to British clients in France for more than 20 years. During this period, I have built up considerable knowledge of tax-efficient French investments, cross-border pensions, taxation, investments, inheritance planning, and financial planning for people living or working in France.

I also help entrepreneurs, freelancers, landlords, rental businesses, and international clients understand the practical and financial implications of setting up a business in France. This includes guidance around the choice of business structure, such as auto-entrepreneur, SAS, or SASU, as well as support with French administrative procedures, registration documents, and the obligations that follow after registration.

As a registered European Financial Adviser, I am well placed to help you understand the wider financial picture before you create your business in France.

I contacted Simon to ask for post-Brexit financial advice as a French resident. He was patient, knowledgeable and efficient as he explained the benefits of setting up an Assurance Vie in France as opposed to holding on to an ISA in the UK. If you are thinking of moving to France, my advice is to talk to Simon earlier rather than later as there is a lot you can do before you get here that will save money when you arrive. I highly recommend him.

To cut a very long story short, thank god for Simon Verity my French financial advisor, Simon was recommended to me and he saved me from a 33000€ mess I had managed to entangle myself with CPAM and URSSAF as I was endeavouring to sort my healthcare and cross border working. Simon knows the financial services and many of the French administrative processes so he helped me tackle CPAM sending registered letters for me as at the time I was stuck in the UK, these letters worked and the debt was consigned into history. Having qualified in both the UK and France, Simon is ideally placed to offer financial assistance, he helped me with some investments in France and we are in the process of transferring my private pension to Europe so that I get paid in Euros. I have managed to obtain my Carte de Sejour, so now I had to declare my finances, Simon helped me complete my first tax declaration and advised how to tackle HMRC so that I was only taxed once. I highly recommend Simon as he has saved me from my own mistakes.

Simon Verity came into my life at a moment of financial crossroads for me. I had been living in France for over twenty years and I had started to realise that I needed to secure my future. It was during the time of COVID and like most people I was reassessing many aspects of my life, finances being one of the main ones. I came across Simon, who completely understands all the cross cultural aspects of being a Brit in France. Simon is down to earth and knowledgeable and has a fantastic capacity to explain the most complex concepts in easy understandable terms. His calm, practical and gentle nature radiates trust and experience. When you are dealing with important life matters such as a future home or a projection of your pension, it is important to feel in safe hands. Simon is all of this and more. If today I have moved forward on my financial projects, it is because I have been guided with expertise.

A Rare Find! Simon is an amazing person and incredibly helpful! He knows everything about the complex French tax system and the platforms inside out. He can translate the process (literally) in a way anyone can understand and even points out things I didn’t know I needed. His ability to compare different solutions and offer precise suggestions is outstanding. What impressed me most is that Simon tackles the complex tasks head-on but also empowered me to handle the simpler ones, showing that I can do more than I thought! He also has an incredible network and can recommend professionals who can help in other areas you might need. I left the meeting energized, with renewed faith in the system, and confident that I’m in good hands. I recommend Simon to anyone and any business, as he ticks all the boxes for expertise, reliability, and exceptional service.
